2- Bhairavnath Temple

It is believed that if you have not visited the Bhairavnath temple then your Yatra to Kedarnath remains incomplete. The Bhairavnath temple is situated near by the Kedarnath temple. You will have a spectacularly breathtaking view of mountains covered with snow. It is said that lord Bhirav takes care of the Kedarnath temple and the whole of Kedarnath. 

3- Vasuki Tal

This Vasuki talk is one of the most beautiful places you can visit in Kedarnath. Vasuki talk is a lake with crystal clear water. You can even see the rocks under the water in Vasuki talk lake. The beautiful view of the peaks of the mountains is amazing. 

4- Sonprayag

Sonprayag is a place where the holy Basuki river and Mandakini river meet. It is suggested to take a bath in this Sangam. Bathing in this holy river will give you purity. The view of mountains and clouds. 

5- Shankaracharya Samadhi

Do not forget to visit the samadhi of great spiritual leader Adi Guru Shankaracharya. He had visited all parts of the world and Kedarnath was the last place he had journeyed. Kedarnath was the place where his soul left his body. The place where he left his soul is where Adi guru Shankaracharya’s samadhi is.

6- Chandrashila

This place is at an altitude of 4000 meters above sea level. The trek to reach Chandrashila starts from chopta. The distance to your destination from chopta is approx 4 to 5 kilo meters. On the top of Chandrashila peak, you will have a 360 degree view of the amazing Himalayan mountains covered with snow and clouds. It is said that lord Ram had prayed to lord Shiva after killing Ravana to clean his sins by meditating on the peak of Chandrashila.

7- Gaurikund

Taking a bath in Gaurikund will peal off all your sins. This place is where Goddess Parvati prayed for years to get married to Lord Shiva. This is the place where Lord Shiva cut Ganesha’s head and replaced it with an elephant’s head. This Kund is in the middle of huge mountains.

8- Triyuginarayan Temple

Well, you will be amazed to know that after Goddess Parvati finished her prayer. Then the place where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati got married is in Kedarnath and that is Triyuginarayan. Here is a spot where this divine union happened the place is called Brahma Shila. This marriage was the first love marriage that happened. 

You will see a burning fire and that fire is burning since Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati got married. Because of this fire, this place has another name that is Dhuni temple. It is said that nearby this temple there is a Kund that is called Sarasvati Kund whose water arrived from Lord Vishnu’s navel.
